Life in Cloverleah has been quiet for months; giving him too much time to think. He still suffers nightmares from his father's abuse decades ago and now his brothers are mated, he is struggling to find and keep his place in the pack. Determined to be useful, his waking hours are spent patrolling the pack's territory but at night his dreams are haunted by a hunky blond, so perfect he couldn't exist in real life. As the Battle Lord for his people, Cathair is used to being sent from the elven realm to dispel injustices found on many realms including earth. Guided by the Seers, he's never questioned his assignments before. But when his father, the High Elder insists he must take a message to a tiny pack in the middle of nowhere, and actually stay with them, he puts up a token protest. His place was on the elven realm, wasn't it? Prophecies and kidnappings, the evil that stalks Cloverleah is getting closer and all will be affected. Plagued with troubles and misunderstandings on both realms, Marius and Cathair must forge a bond or the whole pack could be lost. But when trouble comes from one of their own, the two men reach a crossroads. Will they choose the right path or will the fate of the Cloverleah pack be doomed? This is an M/M story that includes some violence, references to past abuse and a scene of attempted rape (not between MCs). Like all of my books, it has an HEA, no cheating and no cliffhanger. However, the epilogue sets the scene for the next book in the series. This book is part of a series and while this story is based on one couple and is complete in itself; to appreciate the over-arching story line and the stories behind the secondary characters, reading the previous books in order is advised. ...

2.5 stars. Similar to Angel in Black Leather Pants in many ways. Cathair was a royal elf who looked like a blond Norse god. The elven world was a copycat of the djinn world except the elves had immortality and greater power than all the other paranormals. Their seers were even better! Cathair was leader of the elvin army. He was very talented and grew up privileged. He had quite an ego. He only topped in bed.Marius was the youngest mercenary Reef brother and was severely emotionally and physically abused by his father. He suffered with PTSD and self esteem issues, and struggled with his homosexuality. He only topped in bed. The major relationship conflict was who was going to top in bed. It got old real fast. Marius refused to bottom because he was too emotionally wounded from his childhood. He was willing to walk away from their fated mate bond. Cathair gave in first thinking he could seduce Marius later. Marius finally was forced into bottoming because of his fear of losing Cathair when the elvin seers predicted their weak mating bond would be threatened. This resolution felt like a cop out because Marius had not gone through any growth in self esteem and Cathair had not built any trust with him. Disappointingly, when Marius did bottom, the sex scene was rushed and unemotional and Cathair didn't do any seduction as he had earlier planned, such as rimming and other assplay. So the whole topping story arc came across quite weak.In comparison to Marius' childhood abuse, the rape attempt on Cathair was glossed over pretty quickly. It didn't have any long lasting repercussions on his character. The epilogue did NOT feature Cathair and Marius, but focused on Thomas for the next installment. What a shame, because I needed to see personal growth and a stronger relationship for Cathair and Marius. Marius deserved a more robust self esteem and Cathair needed to become less self centered and more humble. The pack's pet dogs were mentioned, but at least they weren't featured as in On The Brink, which I boycotted. I hate pet animals in shifter stories. The shifters' animals need to be the focus. The author can add cutes and cuddlies by including shifter pups and cubs in the story.

Good addition4 starsWhile this one may not be my fav of the series, it was the best so far with character development.I really enjoyed Marius’ character arc. I liked that his physiological issues from his childhood abuse were not magically fixed by the mating. There was still work to do and it took time for both Marius and Cathair to find their feet. The only part that annoys me in this series, is that with every mating someone has to have a problem, usually it’s Kane and it was really getting old, but with this one he has finally got the stick out of his butt and was happy for the mated pair. Unfortunately Adair took up the mantle of jerk in this one. I can understand that he was worried about his brother, but I don’t remember him having any problems with Telio’s mates. Looking forward to Thomas’ book

And here I thought this was going to be a swan-song. No, no, no. The story just keeps going. Good thing I love all the characters in these books. It was a crazy trying to recall all the mated pairs. I'm not sure I liked this match-up as much as some of the others, but the twisty curve to the Cloverleah pack continues, and so I eagerly await book 12.

Lackluster I love this author's books but the whole drama with Marius and Cathair over "topping" and "bottoming" I just skimmed over this book.I understand the abuse Marius went through and Cathair getting assaulted was horrible but this book ended feeling like the top/ bottom issue wasn't resolved.

Totally escapist sexual fantasy series with implicit social commentary on real-life “gender” roles2.5 stars - writing3.5 stars - continuing the series story5 stars - exploration of “gender” (bottoming as emasculating) roles in an escapist, heated sexual fantasy seriesThis series is a guilty pleasure, highlighting male/male shifter/paranormal heat mixed with increasingly epic fantasy tale. While not great literature, fans of the series like me probably enjoy the increasingly over-the-top character power, instant mating, the Fates guiding the world, and supernatural threats that just get more and more outlandish. Most appropriate for those who appreciate plenty of heated, explicit man-on-man action within a sometimes silly and simplistic but supercharged fantasy setting. The author continues focusing on characters who switch top and bottom roles to varying degrees (which is by far the most common/majority of the real life gay male community). A significant number of male/male romances focus on the “big masculine top-only”and “smaller, feminine, bottom-only” pairings, which are present but a relatively small minority of the real-life gay community, so I appreciate it when authors try to include some level of realistic reflections of man-on-man heat (even in sexual fantasy/fantastical fairy tale works like this). The story also recognizes that many gay men never have anal sex, and that is o.k., too. (While I don’t expect male/male romances, which are primarily written by women and for women, to back away from the central role of anal intercourse in their plots/scenes/culminating peeks, it is nice when authors in this genre include significant non-intercourse sexual activity and/or recognize that many gay men have satisfying love lives/relationships/marriages without any intercourse at all.)This is the second work in the series where the physical act of bottoming is a major plot point, which I appreciate. This, too, reflects real world attitudes, such as male roles in Ancient Greece/Rome couplings or even modern notions of masculinity where getting penetrated is considered emasculating and or “feminizing,” which many/most of us find both ridiculous and misogynistic at the same time. (Being penetrated does not make one weaker or in less control of their lives, and if it does make one feel more “feminine” and/or submissive in a pleasing way, there is nothing wrong with that, either.)So my cotinued kudos to this author (and other conscientious writers in this genre) who create plenty sizzling and escapist male/male romances (with very heated scenes) that don’t always rely on intercourse, and/or at least sometimes break from trope that the big/masculine/Alpha is always topping and smaller/femme/twink is always bottoming.

This latest book certainly doesn't disappoint!I was wondering whether the next mate to be introduced would be an angel but we have a 6'10" elf instead!  Cathair is one step down from a heavenly being and he's just what Marius needs.  Marius has a lot of hidden insecurities but when push comes to shove he is right there alongside his mate and much stronger than he realises. This book is more serious and darker than some of the other novels in this series but as always, in this instalment there is drama, intrigue and a double betrayal and the 'tall, dark and dreary' is now a known quantity and it looks as though we could have thrice the trouble coming Cloverleah's way.Lisa weaves an excellent story and leaves us salivating for more. I can't wait to read the next couple of books and the idea of the series drawing to a close is sad and although all good things must come to an end, we will have a fantastic series to reread as often as we wish.

Rating: 4.5 StarsA friend lent me her copy of this book and I loved it enough that I went ahead and bought my own copy. It was wonderful. I really loved both main characters. It was so nice to see Marius get his HEA. I liked the fact that Marius’s issues were not glossed over and that the mating wasn’t all sunshine and roses in the beginning. The author did a really good job getting us as the readers up to date with the events in the past books. She did it in such a way that it didn’t take you out of the story and didn’t drone on with exposition. I was really interested in the elven realm and really hope that she continues with it more in the future. I would really love for Valouf to get his own story. All in all, this was a great addition to the Cloverleah series and I highly recommend it to anyone who has been keeping up with the series.

Another fantastic bookThe latest instalment of the Cloverleah Pack series does not disappoint. I love the romance and the true fated mates aspect and as with all the mates in the series the course of true love never runs smoothly. Old insecurities, interfering relatives and homicidal friends this books has it all. We also start to catch a glimpse of who has been behind all the problems that have occurred over the series and the threat they pose not only to the Cloverleah Pack but to all paranormals and maybe the world.Lisa has built a wonderful world with a compelling set of characters. I feel that every time I read of of these books it’s like coming back to a set of old friends. If you haven’t read any of the series then start at book one, as they need to be read in order, in order to understand the relationships. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

Thoroughly enjoyedI guess I went about this series ass backwards, as I read book 13 first! But it didn't seem to matter much that I did not know all the other characters, it was easy to pick up on . The diversity of characters is partially the appeal, I love all paranormal and most m/m, so this was just perfect and I'm so excited to go back now and start on book 1 and know ill have 12 awesome books to read!! I loved Cathair and Markus and their abilities to show real emotions, such as crying. I also love Lisa's ability to pair such different beings and making them work together! Loved this ! If you've read Lisa's other books in this series, you'll love this one and as a matter of a fact even if you haven't it will be an awesome read!!

#Best One Yet 💞👏I have read all of your books, well that's not true I'm about to read One Wrong Step then I would have read all of your books. I must say Don't Tempt Date is the best of all for me and I love love all your stories but Marius and Cathair has become your power couple of power couple's . I did not want their story to end. I did not like the ending no offense to Thomas but I would have love to see MarCat work through the most heart wrenching part of their relationship. It was a sapranos fade to black ending. People of earth read this book ,well not those who do not read MM romance could you imagine the scandal😏

A fine addition to the seriesThis is the 11th book in the Cloverleah Pack series. Unlike a few others in the series this can be read without reading the others. This is the story of Marius and Cathair. Marius was abused as a child and endured his father's "love" for eight long tormented years. He endured but carries the scars inside and out. Cathair the most powerful elf is sent to Cloverleah and the threat is finally revealed. The book has a series of twists and turns that serve the story well. The addition of elves to the paranormal stew of Cloverleah is interesting as is the author's take on elves.

This book was so juicyOh, I feel like my heart is going to explode! This book was so juicy. I always love these types of books, the ones that have more than just a cut and dry story line. The things that happened in the middle kept it so interesting, leading the way to the shocking twist at the end. Heart breaking but brilliant. Another great addition to the Cloverleah Pack. I never want this series to end, I'm so glad that there's a spin off series.

Another amazing readWhat can I say Lisa has done it again Marius and Cathair are a love story coming from self hatred to true love Marius was badly abused physically and mentally by the person who is supposed to have loved him the most his father so he has self doubt but the love from Cathair makes him realize he can be loved. Lots of twist and turns and of course and ending making you want more can't wait for Thomas story

Amazing! As always, Lisa Oliver pulls you into her world and leaves you anxious to return with the next book. Marius and Cathair were great together. A little angst, lots if sweet and sexy. Marius' book was everything expected and so much more. And the overall story arc gets more intense as we draw closer to big fight. The elves and their realm add so much to this exciting world. Cant wait for Thomas' story. Once again Lisa Oliver slayed it. Love, love, love!

Another awesome book for the series So looked forward to book 13 and it didn't disappoint. Cloverleaf is becoming and I think will remain the best little town to live in. Though their troubles are farfrom over the strength between them still to be tested in a major way . They will no doubt be stronger and even more unique in both the paranormal and human worlds.Did I love this book? You bet! Do I want the next one ? Oh yes ! Great addition to a great series

More shockers!Poor Marius my heart aches for him. But if that man had did one more run, I could have reached though my book and choked him. I liked when Marius and Cathair stop and just talked about what was going on with them. We learn a lot from this book. I'm looking forward to the dark elves showing themselves. That is going to be one epic fight.

Excellent StorylineLoved how Carthair and Marius met and Marius took off due to his fear of bottoming. The pack is going through one of the worst times so far, but I'm positive they'll come out on top in the end.
